Paper-thin solar cells come out and have a wide range of applications

According to reports, a research team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recently developed a “paper-thin” solar cell panel that can be made and attached to any type of surface to absorb solar energy. The solar cells developed this time are thinner than a hair and can be laminated to the surface of various equipment such as sails, tents, tarps, and drone wings to provide longer-lasting battery life.

Comment: Because thin film solar cells use less materials, the cost of each module is significantly lower than that of crystalline silicon solar cells, and the energy required in the manufacturing process is also lower than that of crystalline silicon solar cells. Thin film batteries are called the second generation solar cell technology due to their high theoretical efficiency, low material consumption, and low preparation energy consumption. Thin film batteries can be widely used in buildings, backpacks, tents, cars, sailing boats and even airplanes to provide lightweight and clean energy for houses, various portable electronic and communication equipment, transportation, etc.
